Please help save the children's Hospices in the UK

We need your help. Please make a small donation to help the children’s hospice sector through our partners, Together for Short Lives. Help them to keep their services going for terminally ill children and their families. Thank you!

When a child’s life is expected to be short, there’s no time to waste. A growing number of babies, children and young people are living in the UK with health conditions that means they may die young—and the number is rising.

Everyone is struggling with the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, frightened about what it means for them and loved ones. It’s an especially frightening and anxious time for families caring for seriously ill and vulnerable children. Every day more families are saying they are feeling scared, worried and very alone, not knowing what they can do to keep their child safe. Some are too frightened to leave the house to attend their child’s medical appointments.

Although “normal daily life” has changed for everyone, what hasn’t changed is the lifeline support Together for Short Lives provides to families caring for a seriously ill child though our helpline and family support services – parents who are isolated, confused, frightened and facing some of the most testing times of their life. They need our help more than ever.

Over the last 20 years the DM Thomas Foundation For Young People has supported the children’s hospice sector the UK, funding the provision of equipment, facilities, support and care. However like most people they now face a huge crisis. Not only are they currently trying to care for their children and to keep them safe but they have also lost huge amounts of income and face the prospect of struggling to keep their services open.
